What to Expect

** Friday Evening **

We’d love for you to join us for dinner at a local restaurant. It’ll be a fantastic chance for everyone to meet and get to know each other better. 

** Saturday and Sunday **

The Course will Include
  • Group practice
  • Introduction to Vedic Chanting
  • Chanting
  • Philosophy/Sanskrit/Chant meanings
  • Pranayama and/or meditation practice

Chants will be chosen bases upon the experience of the attendees.

Meet the Teachers

Annie Jones

Annie has always felt a connection with the natural world. She has lived many places and has traveled extensively in the study of yoga, natural therapeutics, and herbal medicine.   Annie’s main educational background is in traditional and therapeutic yoga, herbalism, Vedic chanting and Ayurveda. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher and Therapist in Viniyoga Tradition of TKV Desikachar and T. Krishnamacharya. 

Annie began her studies in Vedic Chanting in 2007 and became a certified Vedic Chanting Teacher through the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram’s Vedavani in 2011. She continues her education under the guidance of her personal mentor, Anita Claney.

Anita Claney

Anita Claney, MS, is a yoga therapist in private practice. For over seven years, she worked in the inpatient Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) program at the Southern Arizona Veterans Administration Health Care System’s (SAVHCS) main hospital. During that time, she collaborated with the psychological team to offer yoga therapy as a complementary healing modality for veterans and active-duty military personnel undergoing intensive treatment for PTSD.

Anita has been Chanting for 20 years.  In 2023, She completed the Advanced Vedic Teacher Training program through Viniyoga Singapore.  She continues her studies, guided by her long-time teacher and mentor, Ms. Menaka Desikachar.
